Schneider Electric Foundation: A global program for youth education and entrepreneurship
The mission of the Schneider Electric Foundation is to encourage young people to imagine and build their future, and ours, and give them the means to do so. They provide education thanks to all its partners around the world and encourage innovation.
Since 2009:
- +578,000 young people trained
- +8,500 trainers trained
- +8,000 entrepreneurs supported
Social impact is part of the Schneider Electric Foundation's DNA. In this light the foundation has decided to create an innovative impact assessment approach for its Youth Education & Entrepreneurship program.
With over 100 partners supported in 80 countries and the ambitious goal of training 1 million young people by 2025, it's essential to understand the real impact of its actions in people's lives. 💡
The challenge of this initiative was significant and presented a number of obstacles at the start:
❌ the language barrier
❌ different cultural contexts
❌ complex data analysis with so many projects.
Monitoring the impact of global project portfolio on a single tool
The Foundation is developing a harmonised impact measurement approach in collaboration with its partners to make it accessible and useful for all the projects involved.
✅ The key was to remain agile in the approach in order to adapt to different contexts and allow data to be aggregated.
✅ Another key success factor was to ensure the commitment of the partners while avoiding a time-consuming approach. The approach was therefore based on a MOOC and a platform, which facilitates the collection and analysis of data in different languages, as well as regular checkpoints with experts and the SE Foundation.
And what are the prospects for the future?
👉 The Foundation would like to help the partners to become autonomous in this process and extend its use to other programmes.
